Description
This powerful EWTN original docu-drama, filmed on location in the Czech Republic and the United States, explores the life and times of St. John Neumann, the 4th Bishop of Philadelphia. It tells of his early life in the Czech Republic, his ministry as a Redemptorist priest, and his appointment as the Bishop of Philadelphia in 1852. St. John Neumann was a zealous missionary, and the founder of Catholic education in the United States. He initiated 40 Hours Devotions in every parish in Philadelphia, founded an order of sisters, and built over 80 new churches during his episcopacy. He accomplished all this and more before dying at just 48 years old, and is the first US Bishop to be canonized a saint.
